Darién d'Oléron-Vendôme is the eldest son of Aares Tralinor and Madeleine d'Oléron-Vendôme. Through his mother, Madeleine, Darién was a member of the Imperial House of Araaden. When his mother assumed the mantle of Empress of the Araadenei, he assumed the position as heir apparent and the mantles of Crown Dauphin of Araaden and Prince of Calavel.
Throughout the period of the Great Arrodelean War, Darién d'Oléron-Vendôme loyally served the Araadenian Empire as a starpilot, commander, and later, an Acheron Knight. During the war, Darién and his longtime love interest, Sophia van der Breuk, were wed in a small, private ceremony aboard the Araadenian frigate Crown of Alderaan in orbit of the Araadenian capital world of Auberon. After the defeat of Vanée d'Avenor, Darién and Sophia held a more formal wedding ceremony in the secluded mountains of Vaurenere.
Soon after the end of the Great Arrodelean War, Darién's mother abdicated from the Araadenian throne. She was replaced by Darién, who was crowned Endymion II, Emperor of the Araadenei. Since then, Darién and Sophia have had two sons and continue to reside on the imperial throneworld of Araaden.
